SoundsLike

The SoundsLike system from StarZen, provides a technology that enables sounds-like search systems to be incorporated in Visual DataFlex programs.

At the core of the technology, lies a single function, NameSoundsLike. This function takes a name as a parameter and returns a code that you can use to compare names to see if they sound alike.

Typical uses of this technology include customer-name searches, where the operator would type a surname and a list of surnames that sound similar are displayed. For example, entering "Mack Graw" would list "McGraw" and typing "Filip" would find "Philip".

In addition to the Visual DataFlex package and Windows DLL incorporating the algorithms, a sample Workspace is included to demonstrate its usage.
